FaVoRiTe ThInGs

I thought I would join the blogger band wagon and list out some of my favorite things (under $10).

1. Aveeno calming face wash
 $6.49 at Target
I have used a lot of facial cleansers in my day..lately I have really liked this one. I love the price and how soft it leaves my skin.

2. Febreze candles
$5 at HEB
All of the Febreze candles smell good..but my favorite in particular is the Gain scent. It makes my house smell like I just folded clean laundry...with out all of the work!

3. OPI Blackberry Bogata
$7.99 at HEB
I have used this color for years. I love it for fall and for Christmas :)

These are currently some of my favorite things. What are some of yours??

2 Months

This week, Harper celebrated her two month birthday by visiting the doctor. She got all of her required vaccinations and she was such a trooper. I am so thankful for the sweet nurse at her pediatricians office who gave me a "job" during her shots so I would be distracted and not cry along with her.

When we got home from the doctor I wrote all of her measurements on her monthly chalk board and waited to take pictures until Ryan got home. Mommas know that after shots your baby doesn't feel well, so I figured I would need his help to try and get a smile from her. We could tell she didn't feel well so we only took a few pictures of her next to the chalk board.

At two months, Harper is always smiling. She started to smile at a month...but we concluded it was just gas. Now when you smile at her she loves to smile back. It is so sweet to see her smile and coo. She is such a happy baby :)

Feeling very blessed!

Baby Boy Shower

This week I have been a busy bee working and crafting for my sisters baby shower. I spent the beginning of the week creating tissue paper pom poms and scrap book paper garland. I also used scrapbook paper to create banners. Luckily, scrapbook paper was half off this week at hobby lobby (Score!). I bought a big book of random papers that match the colors she is using in her nursery. My sister was going for a rustic theme, so I used twine for all of the banners and garland. I added 11 pom poms from the ceiling for a cute pop of color. (If you go to any hairdoll party you will always see pom poms--they are a staple with us!)

When it comes to food, I decided to keep it simple. We had mimosas, pinwheels, veggies with dip, hummus, chocolate covered strawberries, and carrot cake cupcakes. On Friday, my mom and I hit up Sams and HEB for all of our food needs! Sams was perfect for champagne, flowers (thanks for the idea Jordan!), yummy pinwheel wraps, strawberries,  and OJ. I decided to buy all the produce at HEB, as I didn't need it in bulk. When we got home from shopping we did all of the baking and prep work. Doing all of this the night before made Saturday morning a breeze.

 He has my heart :)

 Harper loves her Aunt Cortney!

The main goal of hosting this shower was to make my sister cry...with joy! When she walked in she cried instantly. Mission accomplished! I am so glad to have hosted a shower for my sister and I am so excited to be an Auntie to my sweet nephew, Cameron. I love him already :)

Sunday Brunch

Today we woke up super early for a Sunday...mostly due to the time change! We lounged in bed and played with baby for an hour or so before we started to get hungry. Our friends, Justin and Kari, had suggested Bin 555 for dinner. We were surprised to see Bin 555 on Urban Spoon as one of the highest rated brunches in San Antonio. (Located off Bitters near the Silverhorn golf course)

It was about 9 am, so we decided to drive over and try it out. We pulled up and we saw it did not open until 10. We spent the next hour driving around looking at houses. Ryan and I used to do this every Sunday in college. We ended up driving around in Ryan's childhood neighborhood. It was cool for him to show me his old house and the houses of all of his friends. He made a point several times of telling me that our next house needed to be in this neighborhood. The houses are all so beautiful with grand trees in the front yard.

When 10 rolled around, we headed over for brunch. We were surprised how nicely decorated the restaurant was. We were the first ones there so we got the best table in the house. We ordered a carafe of mimosas...Ryan loved the 10 dollar price point! The menu was very small, but very creative. There were several items on the menu we wanted so we picked a few to share.

We started with the ricotta grilled cheese with a homemade jam. It was so YUMMY! Ryan and I agreed the flavor was similar to a crab rangoon...but so much better! Ryan ordered the crispy eggs benedict and I ordered the chef's pie. The waiter informed us that every week the chef creates a different breakfast pizza. This week it was pork belly, arugula, and sauteed brussel sprouts. Both items were amazing. We already have plans with our friends to go back next Sunday! Go check it out!

 Chef's Pie
 Grilled Cheese

 Crispy Eggs Benedict
I had to include this sweet picture of Ryan and Harper. Harper and I waited on the porch for Ryan to come home on Friday. Once he was home, she spent about an hour in his arms while I took down the Halloween decorations.
